About Site

All around the world, countless festivals take place, each one vividly reflecting the local history and traditions of its region.

This website was launched as an online database that comprehensively introduces such global festivals. Through various content—like photos and videos—we hope you can fully enjoy the atmosphere and appeal of festivals that might be difficult to attend in person.

Moreover, a portion of our revenue (excluding operating costs) is donated to UNESCO. We operate this site with the hope of contributing to the protection and preservation of the world’s cultural heritage, and we believe that enjoying these festivals by viewing or reading about them can help support the future of both the festivals and their communities—spreading a new sense of value in the process.

Personally, having participated in local festivals since childhood, I’ve come to realize that a festival is far more than mere entertainment; it’s “living cultural heritage,” infused with the history, faith, and passion of the people who bring it to life.

During my student days, I also worked behind the scenes as an event staff member, which showed me just how much effort and dedication goes into preparing and maintaining these celebrations.

However, various circumstances—including the COVID-19 pandemic—have made it increasingly difficult to attend festivals in person, forcing many to downsize or even halt altogether. At the same time, advances in digital technology now allow us to “experience” a festival through videos and articles, even without traveling to the location itself.

This shift may threaten the essence of festivals, but it also offers a chance to rediscover their charm and pass them on in new ways.

That’s why we thought: while there are many media outlets that cover festivals, if it’s not possible to visit them in person, why not create a space where people can at least enjoy them through reading and viewing content? This idea led us to build this website.

We continue sharing the “now” of festivals from around the globe with the hope that the information and inspiration found here will encourage more people to see these events in person someday, and deepen their understanding of the culture and people behind them.
